Ariel was found by a good Samaritan, outdoors, during a heat wave in Queens, NY in July 2013. At that time, Ariel was estimated to be about 3 months old. She was extremely small and also, visibly injured. Ariel was rushed to a rabbit-savvy veterinarian and diagnosed with hind leg paralysis. An Xray revealed a spinal injury, cause unknown and prognosis uncertain.
It was determined that due to Ariel’s injuries and special needs, she would need to be placed in foster care immediately. Rabbit Rescue and Rehab worked with Ariel’s foster family to get her specialized care.
Disabled bunnies form a very close bond with the humans in their lives and Ariel is no exception! She loves to be held and massaged. Ariel has been all over NYC with her foster family (Central Park, the NYC Marathon, and many Petco events) and she has self-confidence no matter where she goes. For anyone willing to make the commitment, the reward is great. To see Ariel’s journey since August, check out www.facebook.com/teamariel2013
